PDU Circuit Monitor
Split-Core Branch Circuit Monitor
The split-core branch circuit monitoring system provides a cost-effective solution for electrical load management. It is ideally suited for applications where load capacity requirements are dynamic, such as data centres. The split-core housing makes this device perfect for retrofit projects.
The split-core current transformers monitor the current draw of each critical breaker in a power distribution unit (PDU). The accumulated information can be viewed and/or logged across Ethernet using a Data Acquisition Unit.
Typical Solution
Up to 42 circuits can be monitored by each Branch Circuit Monitor (BCM)
Data updates occur approximately once per second to provide timely preventative maintenance information. As a circuit approaches capacity, warning and alarm
levels trigger. Additional capacity can then be added, or loads balanced, to prevent costly downtime from overloaded circuits and unexpected breaker trips
