News - Pharmaceutical Company extend their UK Observer installation to the USA.

One of the worlds largest pharmaceutical companies, have seen the benefits of the Observer system at a number of UK sites for over a decade. As part of their global monitoring and with the knowledge of Observer’s reliability it was decided to implement BTI’s solution at sites in Philadelphia and North Carolina. The solution now enables them to monitor any of their sites around the world from any location.

BTI were pleased to announce their partnership with Pangea Systems in August 2005. This relationship, along with their existing partnership with Halcyon Software enables BTI to better meet the demanding needs of our new and existing clients.
The Observer can be interfaced with their systems to provide a totally integrated solution.

 IT Director receives text message on his mobile phone 'Water Detected under Computer Room Floor'

IT Director puts in call to on-site security and asks them to check it out.

IT Director receives second  alert 'Water Detected under Computer Room Floor'

IT Director receives call from security to say everything looks fine, probably a false alarm.
He informs them of second alert and asks them to go into the computer room and look under the raised floor by lifting floor tiles.
On closer inspection it was found that water leaking from an air conditioning unit was working its way towards the mains power riser for the building. Once the leak had been detected the unit was isolated and the water contained and mopped away.

The Observer continued to monitor the room to ensure that temperature thresholds were not exceeded due to the effect of reduced air conditioning capacity.

Calls were put in to the service company who rectified the problem and business operations were unaffected.

Had the water leak gone undetected, power would have been lost to the computer room and most likely the whole building. System downtime would have inevitably occurred, rectification costs would have been higher and business disruption unthinkable.

System Features -Recent Enhancements

Network Connection
Observer systems can be attached to the network by using a LAN module to enable connection from any PC on the network.

Remote Sensor Interface

The Remote Sensor Interface (RSI) enables sensor modules and equipment connections at remote locations to be connected to your in-house system. This means that monitoring a number of small comms rooms can be done with a single Observer.
 
Email Alerts
Alarm messages that are sent to a Central Monitoring Console (CMC) can be forwarded on by email to a number of recipients.
With email being able to be received by various mobile phones and handheld PC's, this offers another level of flexibility to your Observer solution.
